Hi, I’m Jennifer. (But you can call me Jen.)

Before becoming an executive coach, I spent nearly 30 years in corporate roles spanning investment banking, HR and senior commercial leadership. At BP, I led trading businesses and held roles in culture and talent. My career took me through different organizations and across countries, with responsibility for both business results and people.

I’ve made difficult decisions with incomplete information, led teams through change and participated in conversations about performance, promotion and succession. I’ve also experienced how much harder it can be to assess a situation when your own reputation, relationships or future are involved.

The person colleagues came to

Throughout my career, colleagues came to me when something at work didn’t add up. They wanted to talk through a decision, understand a relationship or get an honest perspective on something they couldn’t quite explain.

Those conversations drew on different parts of my experience. My commercial roles taught me to consider the business pressures behind a decision. My HR roles gave me a view of how organizations assess people and make choices about their careers.

I saw capable people underestimate the effect of their own behavior. I also saw people take responsibility for problems they couldn’t reasonably solve on their own. Understanding the difference matters.

How I work today

As an executive coach and advisor, I work with experienced leaders facing difficult work situations and questions about how they want to lead.

I’m interested in the specifics: what happened, what you think it means and what you’re trying to achieve. I’ll ask questions, offer a perspective and challenge you when I think something deserves a closer look.

My experience helps me recognize possibilities and ask useful questions. You know your circumstances in ways I don’t. Our work brings those perspectives together so you can decide how to proceed.

Sometimes that means preparing for one consequential conversation. Sometimes it means working over time on a pattern that affects how you lead or how others experience you.
